Triotique is a young and enthusiastic chamber music trio with a particular fondness for contemporary classical music. Sisters Elke Elsen (transverse flute) and Frauke Elsen (oboe and voice) are in perfect harmony and balanced masterfully by Margot Welleman (piano).
Their mission is combining high musical quality with originality, interaction, and a healthy dose of guts, in order to reach as wide an audience as possible.
The trio was founded in 2013, after the three met at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Since their debut, the ensemble has given concerts throughout Belgium and the Netherlands and has been a guest on ‘Opium’ for Dutch Radio 4 and ‘Boetiek Klassiek’ for radio Klara in Belgium.
Triotique won the Prix Mathilde Horlait-Dapsens from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in 2013 and were finalists in the Fontys-Toonzaal Ensemble Contest in ‘s Hertogenbosch (the Netherlands) in 2015.
They are currently involved in a chamber music program at the Orpheus Institute (Ghent).
With actress Abigail Abraham, they created the children’s theatre piece The Chinese Nightingale, with which they have toured schools and cultural centres for the last three years.
