Elke Elsen (°1990) holds the 2nd flute/solopiccolo position in the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest & Nederlands Kamerorkest (Amsterdam).
At the age of 18, she entered the royal conservatory of Brussels, where she studied with Frank Hendrickx. She continued her education with Baudoin Giaux and Isabelle Bialek and received her first Master Degree in Music with high distinction in june 2013. For this Degree, she got the prize of the Patrimonium of the conservatory (outstanding results).
Elke continued studying and obtained a Master Degree in Piccolo at the royal conservatory of Antwerp with Peter Verhoyen (2015), another flute degree with Valerie Debaele at the conservatory of Tilburg (2016) and one more Piccolo degree with Pierre Dumail in Paris (2019).
Elke developped her musical skills as a substitute in professional orchestras such as l'Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie, het Nationaal Orkest van België, het Symfonieorkest van Vlaanderen, Brussels Philharmonic, Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, het Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest (NL), de Philharmonie Zuidnederland (NL), het Noord Nederlands Orkest (NL), ect..
From 2013-2019 she was soloflutist of the belgian orchestra ‘Frascati Symfonic’, conducted by Kris Stroobants, which is a projectorchestra for young talented musicians.
She has been selected for the Aurora Summer Festival 2013 in Sweden with Denis Bouriakov, for the Pacific Region International Summer Academy 2014 in Canada and for the Hundisburg Summer Academy 2015. In Hundisburg she got the opportunity to play the Concerto by Vivaldi for Piccolo and Stringorchestra.
